Athletic Programs
St. Lorenz is a member of the Tri-County Lutheran League that includes 13 elementary schools throughout six nearby counties. St. Lorenz offers the following interscholastic sports programs. Students in grades 7 & 8 are eligible to participate in these programs with 5 & 6 graders invited when their numbers are required.
Music Opportunities
In addition to the instrumental, choral, and general music offerings during the school day, students attending St. Lorenz Middle School have an the opportunity to participate in several extra-curricular music programs.
Academics Opportunities
Science Olympiad is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing interest in science, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement for students. Our St. Lorenz team provides a competitive environment for students with a natural aptitude for science. Students compete in 2-4 events from the 23 events offered.The team travels to two or three invitational competitions to prepare for our Regional competition which is required to qualify for the State competition held every year at Michigan State University. St. Lorenz has been the top team in our region for the past four years. Dedicated volunteers help to prepare the students for their events during twice a week practices held from December through March.
Girls of Grace
Girls of Grace is a Christian Dance Ministry within St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, dedicated to serving the Lord through worshipful, interpretive dance. This ministry is made up of over sixty dancers from grade 4 through college. The group receives its directive and inspiration from Psalm 149:3. “Let them praise His Name with dancing!”
