Environmental Education

The St. Lorenz Environmental Education Program, which began in the fall of 2016, was developed to provide preschool-8th grade students with outdoor, hands-on learning opportunities.  By immersing students in their natural environment, they are exposed to sunlight, fresh air and exercise all while enhancing their understanding and respect for God’s amazing creation. Studies including monarch butterfly and bird migration, rocks and minerals, Native American culture, ecosystems and habitat, Salmon in the Classroom, water quality and watersheds, Sturgeon in the Classroom, recycling and pollution, plus outdoor seasonal studies are just some of the many topics the students are taught each year.
